Lincoln Presidential China Inspired Amethyst Bead Huggie Earrings

Lincoln Presidential China Inspired Amethyst Bead Huggie Earrings

The "huggie" earring is a trendsetting and popular earring silhouette. These purple amethyst 10mm bead huggie earrings are 1 1/4-inch in length and hug the ear perfectly for a comfortable and eye catching pop of color. The 18-karat gold accents add a touch of elegance to any outfit.

These earrings are a part of our jewelry collection inspired by President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln's White House china service. The porcelain dinner, breakfast, dessert, and tea service was purchased for the White House by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln during an 1861 shopping trip to the E. V. Haughwout & Co. department store in New York City. The itemized bill included with Mrs. Lincoln’s new china includes the following description of her purchase, ā€œOne fine Porcelain Dining Service . . . decorated Royal purple, and double gilt, with the Arms of the United States, on each piece.ā€ The beautiful state service, which originally included 190 pieces, was reordered during the presidencies of Ulysses S. Grant and Chester A. Arthur and examples are kept on display in the White House China Room today.
